Pro-Day 3/3: UTEP
Coming off an injury riddled and disappointing senior campaign, receiver Jayson Boyd was physically impressive this afternoon. Boyd measured 6'-3.5"/222 pounds and completed his forty in a time of 4.56 seconds. Boyd then touched 35.5-inches in the vertical and reached 10-feet in the broad jump. Boyd, known as a "me-first" players was late in getting to his running events and then proceeded to drop a bunch of passes during the workout.
One receiver who was impressive was the Miners second leading pass catcher, Chris Francies. Measuring just under 6-1 and weighing 193-pounds, Francies clocked a 4.52-forty then posted a 36-inch vertical and 10-foot-6-inch broad. While those numbers were not out of the ordinary Francies pass catching workout was, as he caught everything thrown in his direction.
Former UCLA-back Tyler Ebell was bigger then expected, measuring 5'-8.5" and 182-pounds. Ebell completed 15-reps on the bench the ran a 4.57-forty. He finished up with a 34.5-vertical and 10-foot-1-inch broad jump.
Like Josh House, the Indianapolis Colts were actively pursuing Ebell.
Finally, though he did not partake in the physical activity today, Thomas Howard was a busy man interviewing with teams. None more so then the Jacksonville Jaguars who cornered the rising linebacker with three separate scouts.
